I’ve deleted my social media apps!

Over the past couple of months I’ve really noticed just how much time I spend on social media. I pick up my phone so often and go straight to them that I don’t even realise I’m doing it, and it’s become such a bad habit. I suppose it’s kind of like FOMO. So, I woke up today and decided to delete my social media apps (after spending about half an hour scrolling through them all, of course).

It’s annoying, because I love keeping in touch with my friends on Twitter, looking at cute pet accounts & getting art inspiration on Instagram & seeing what my family’s up to on Facebook, but at the moment the bad outweighs the good! Already today I’ve unlocked my phone so many times in search for those apps, then realised what I’m doing, shook my head at myself & locked it again.

In place of all the time I would usually spend scrolling, I’m going to try:

• Reading more books & blog posts

• Painting & Lettering

• Listening to new music

• Meditating

• Practising mindfulness & the exercises I learnt in therapy

• Spending more time with family

While not being able to work because of Chronic Fatigue and therefore being at home most, if not all of the day, this will for sure be a better way to spend my time!

I’ll add an update on my week without social media when it’s done & dusted! Wish me luck my dudes.

Take care,

– T.
